RING JOINT GASKET
The RTJ standard size gaskets are manufactured in accordance to API6A
and ASME B16.20 specifications. Total control of manufacturing processes
ensures correct gasket surface and hardness to give a good seal without
damaging flange connections. The hardness of the ring should always
be less than the hardness of the flanges to provent flanges deformation.
The sealing shrfaces on the ring joint grooves must be smoothly
finished to 63 micro inches.
Type R Octagonal
Applications:
• Used for high pressure applications.
Typical Properties:
• High integrity seal at high pressures
• Suitable for fl at bottom groove fl anges
• An improvement on the original oval RTJ design

Type RX
Applications:
• Used for high pressure applications
• Interchangeable with Type R Octagonal joints

• High integrity seal at high pressures
• Suitable for fl at bottom groove fl anges
• Pressure energised design improves effi ciency of seal with
increasing internal pressure
• Can be drilled to create “SRX” ring joint for subsea installation
Type BX
Applications:
• Used for high pressure API applications.

• Pressure energised design improves effi ciency of seal with
increasing internal pressure
• Suitable for API 6BX fl anges
• Can be drilled to create “SBX” ring joint for subsea installation
